Food technology is the application of food science for the selection, processing, preservation, packaging, distribution, and use of safe food and beverages. Related fields include analytical chemistry, nutrition, quality control, biotechnology, engineering, and food safety management. There are plenty of opportunities for food technology. Food Technology includes various chemical processes that food products undergo to make them consumable and ready to market.
Food technology is a vast field of study. There are numerous fields that can fetch you many opportunities in food technology like Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, and Nutrition, Food Microbiology, Food Quality and Safety, Food Laws and Agri-Business Management.

Salary in Food Technology field:

A fresher in food technology can earn between Rs. 10,000 to 25,000 per month. After gaining a good experience, you will get around Rs 30,000 per month. In government hospitals, the salaries of a nutritionist have risen up to Rs. 25,000. Nutritionists working in private sectors will have differing pay amounts according to the management. A Food Technologist/ Scientist can expect an average pay ranging from Rs.48000 – Rs.72000 based on years of experience.
